There is a seasonal employee who was hiking from Logan Pass to this lake. He is currently missing. The hike I made wasn't nearly as long as the one he was attempting and was on a well marked trail. I hope he is found safe.

Avalanche Lake
I decided to join the guided hike to Avalanche Lake. It was informative and very enjoyable.
The trail passes this area. An avalanche came down from the other side of the valley and is the source of the name of the nearby lake. The trees here weren't knocked down by the avalanche directly. The pressure wave ahead of it was the cause.
