Mackinac City

As we crossed over the Bridge we saw a freighter approaching so we zipped into the park at the base of the bridge for a quick picture.

Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway

We headed to Point Iroquois along the Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway. The colors had changed quite a bit.

Rivermouth Campground

We stopped by Rivermouth Campground as we were driving by. I was curious as to what had been done with the tree that had blown over the week before. This is the answer.

The colors along M-123 were brilliant in the stretch between the Falls.

Tahquamenon Falls

After a brief stop in St. Ignace for gas and a few pictures, we headed to the Upper Falls.

I think the Upper Falls are nice, but they overshadow the Lower Falls which I think are often overlooked.



The trail to one of the overlooks was closed. There is an unpaved path leading from the parking lot to the paved portion of the trail near the lower overlook. This was still accessible and I decided to walk back that.

Mackinac City

The week after I went up north, I went up again with a fellow blogger. We left Ypsilanti about 8:30 Saturday evening and spent the night in Gaylord. We were up early the next morning and drove to Mackinaw City for breakfast and pictures.

Mackinac City

I made a quick stop on the way back to take pictures of bridge and a freighter that had just passed.


Here the freighter is passing Mackinac Island as people enjoy the sunshine.
